Everyone else* is doing a “year in review” post and I haven’t made a lot of progress this week, so I’m joining in. I’m actually rather startled to discover I’ve managed a lot of the goals I set, which I could claim means I was more productive this year, but we all know it was basically because I set the bar pretty low.
My plan was to complete the Entirely Random Arbitrary Goal that I’ve been failing to achieve for some time now. This was:
Big freight Loco (complete)
Railcar (Complete)
Shunter (Drawing board stage) Finally under construction, although I’m a bit stuck at the moment, more on that later…
Wood wagons x 3 (One complete, two ready to paint) Finished
Vans x 3 (One complete, two under construction) Also finished. I could be looking at some kind of a personal record here.
Coaches x 2 (Thinking hard about these, occasionally.) Well, I’ve made a design based on the German Silberlinge coaches. after some faffing on my part, someone very kindly gave me a set of laser cut window frames to give the models the distinctive Silberlinge appearance.
I’ve got enough windows for at least three carriages, so now I need to actually start making the things. I’ve got an idea how to do this, and I’ll get back to you on that… eventually.
On the other hand, I did manage the final wagons for the set, and even made one more than planned:
… although I apparently neglected to photograph them on completion so you’ll have to take my word for it…
*”Everyone else” means a couple of people whose blogs I’ve read…
